BLOOMINGTON — Wheeler Mission-Bloomington has been awarded a $20,000 combined grant to strengthen case management and supportive services for men experiencing homelessness across Monroe County and South-Central Indiana.

The grant funding was provided by Crane Credit Union in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis (FHLBank Indianapolis) through its Community Multiplier – Member Match program.
Expanding Case Management and Community Support
The newly secured funds will assist Wheeler Mission guests by connecting them with essential healthcare, behavioral health services, employment opportunities, and permanent housing resources. The program focuses on providing individualized guidance to help residents transition toward long-term stability and independence.
Following a recent campus renovation, Wheeler Mission-Bloomington serves approximately 600 to 700 men annually through emergency shelter, meals, and life transformation programs.

“For the men who come through our doors, finding stability often begins with someone willing to walk alongside them,” said Dana Jones, Director of Community Engagement and Services for Wheeler Mission-Bloomington. “This investment will help us provide the guidance and connections they need to move forward with hope and purpose. We are deeply grateful to Crane Credit Union and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis for making this possible.”
Jones added that Crane Credit Union staff have gone beyond financial support by generously volunteering their time at the Bloomington campus.
Community Partner Collaboration
The Community Multiplier – Member Match program operates by matching grants from FHLBank Indianapolis with direct commitments from member financial institutions like Crane Credit Union to fund local housing and community stability initiatives.

“At Crane Credit Union, we believe in strengthening the communities we serve and helping individuals overcome challenges on their path toward a brighter future,” said Bryan Myers, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Crane Credit Union. “We are proud to support Wheeler Mission and the important work they do.”
