BEDFORD — The Limestone Unit After School Program will be closed on Friday, Nov. 6, to allow staff to complete professional development training and prepare for the organization’s biggest annual fundraiser, officials announced.

The annual dinner will take place the following evening, Saturday, Nov. 7. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the main program beginning at 7 p.m. Legendary Indiana University broadcaster Don Fischer will serve as the event’s keynote speaker.
While the Limestone Unit will be closed on Nov. 6, the Thornton Teen Center and Mitchell After School programs will remain open and operate on normal schedules.

Organization leaders noted that staff will use the closure to participate in training designed to enhance daily youth programming, alongside final preparations for the dinner, which directly supports the organization’s offerings year-round.
“We appreciate your understanding as our staff takes this time to learn and to prepare for an exciting event that helps make our programs possible,” officials said in a statement.
Parents and guardians with youth in the Limestone Unit program are advised to make alternative childcare arrangements for Nov. 6. Regular program hours will resume the following week.
