BEDFORD — The Lawrence County Council has issued a formal notice announcing a special meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 6, 2026, at 4:15 p.m., directly preceding the county’s scheduled Budget Adoption Meeting at 4:30 p.m.
The special meeting will take place at the Lawrence County Courthouse, located at 916 15th Street, Suite 28, in Bedford.
According to the agenda released by the Council on October 2, 2026, the primary purpose of the special session is to consider an emergency hire request submitted by the Lawrence County Clerk’s Office for a position within Voter Registration. The Council will meet specifically to review and act on this agenda item before transitioning into the annual budget adoption proceedings.
