INDIANA — Indiana election officials are reminding residents that the deadline to register to vote in the upcoming 2026 General Election is fast approaching on Monday, Oct. 5.
Hoosiers looking to cast a ballot in the fall election must ensure their registration is active and up to date before midnight on the Oct. 5 deadline.
How to Register or Update Information
Eligible Indiana residents can submit or update their voter registration online at indianavoters.in.gov. The online portal allows voters to:
- Register to vote for the first time.
- Check current registration status and confirmed polling location.
- Update address, legal name, or contact details.
- Request an absentee ballot by mail, if eligible.
Residents can also register or update their information in person by visiting their local county clerk’s office or county voter registration department during regular business hours before the Oct. 5 cutoff.
To qualify to vote in Indiana, individuals must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old on or before Election Day, and have resided in their voting precinct for at least 30 days prior to the election.
