Sandra L. Davis, 88, of Mitchell, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
Sandra was born in Lawrence County on August 5, 1938, to Winford and Lucille (Kern) McCain. Sandra worked many years at GE in Bloomington. She was a member of the Bedford Moose Lodge. Sandra enjoyed fishing, gardening, painting, and remodeling houses.
Survivors include her children, Danny Joe (Teresa) Hignite of Bedford, Darren Hignite of Bedford, David (Angie) Hignite of Mitchell, and Dee Dee (Eric) Baker of Mitchell; one daughter-in-law, Jacklyn Hignite of Bedford; one sister, Marilyn Ramey of Bedford; 20 grandchildren, Mike Neal, Joseph Hignite, Joseph Neal, Tammy Johnson, Chasity Staley, Lance Hignite, Randy Hignite, Jessie Baughman, Kaden Hill, Kameron Albertson, Joe Sams, Jordan Hignite, Caden Dodds, Riley Dodds, Syinthia Dodds, Kody Baker, Luke Baker, Heaven Baker, Taylar Baker, and Henry Baker and several great-grandchildren.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, son Danny Hignite, and husbands Jim Polk and Robert Davis.
Cremation was chosen.
