BEDFORD — Bedford City Utilities has issued a precautionary boil order, effective immediately on Monday, September 14, 2026, for select residents following repairs to a local water main.
The advisory affects properties along Crawford Drive, specifically:
- 1208 Crawford Drive
- 1213 Crawford Drive
- 1218 Crawford Drive
- 1219 Crawford Drive
- 1302 Crawford Drive
- 1305 Crawford Drive
- 1312 Crawford Drive
- 1315 Crawford Drive
City officials noted that affected customers may experience reduced water pressure or temporary service disruptions while repairs are completed. The boil order will remain in effect until further notice.
During the advisory, residents in the designated area are instructed to bring all tap water to a vigorous boil for two full minutes and allow it to cool before use. Alternatively, bottled water should be used.
Pre-boiled or bottled water must be used for:
- Drinking and food preparation
- Brushing teeth
- Washing dishes and raw vegetables
- Preparing infant formula
- Making or using ice
