NORTH VERNON – Bedford North Lawrence’s Sammie Nusbaum and Emma Voris earned All-Hoosier Hills Conference honors during the league tournament at St. Anne’s on Monday afternoon.

No.13 Floyd Central won the conference title with 311, followed by New Albany (332) and Seymour (360). BNL did not enter a full team of five to qualify for team score, with two players out because of illness.

Nusbaum finished second in the field with a 6-over 76 that included five birdies. She solved the first, fifth and ninth holes on the front nine, then added back-side birdies on the 14th and 16th holes. She stumbled with a triple-bogey on 12 and a double on 17.

Voris was third overall with 77. She posted two birdies (first and 10th holes) and eight pars.

“Not playing as a whole team was a weird way to start the day, but I think the three girls handled it well and made adjustments they needed to,” BNL coach Carly Stigall said.

“Sammie and Emma both played pretty solid. I know they both felt they could’ve saved some shots, but the course condition did play a factor into some of their putts that lipped or stayed short. Bella (Warren) went out and tied her PR, so I’m excited to see how that’s going to motivate her into the postseason.”

Warren carded 97. Floyd Central’s Arian Redden was the medalist with 73.

BNL will celebrate Senior Day on Thursday at Otis Park, facing Springs Valley and Brownstown, then host the IHSAA sectional on Saturday.
