BEDFORD — Bedford residents will have access to the city’s leaf vacuum truck service from October 12 through November 27.
Residents who want to use the service should rake their leaves into loose piles within three feet of the curb on their lawn. The city advises residents not to bag the leaves and not to place leaf piles in the roadway because it can clog storm drains.
Leaf pickup will automatically occur on residents’ regular trash days. Residents must call (812) 279-9222 or submit an online work order if they live in an alley and need leaf pickup.
The annual service lets residents clear fallen leaves from their yards while helping keep streets and storm drains clear.
