ORLEANS — Maintenance crews with the Town of Orleans are currently on the scene responding to a large water main break at Fifth and Vincennes Streets.
Town officials announced that residents and water customers in the immediate surrounding area may experience disruptions, including lower water pressure or temporary service loss, while repairs are actively underway.
Crews are working to isolate the break, complete repairs, and restore full system pressure as quickly as possible. During and immediately following the repair process, affected residents are advised to keep the following in mind:
- Pressure Drops: Temporary fluctuations in water pressure may occur for nearby customers duration of the repair.
- Water Discoloration: Once service is fully restored, tap water may temporarily appear discolored due to sediment disturbance in the lines. If this occurs, residents should run cold water from a tap for a few minutes until it clears.
- Precautionary Measures: Residents in the immediate vicinity should monitor local municipal updates in the event that a localized precautionary boil water advisory is issued following the repair.
Further updates regarding the repair status and service restoration will be provided by town officials as work progresses.
