INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Mike Braun today announced he has made a selection to fill a vacancy on the Harrison County Superior Court.
Judge Joseph Claypool of the Harrison County Superior Court will retire on September 8, creating a vacancy that will last less than four months.
The Governor is appointing Joshua Otto Schalk – the current Harrison County prosecutor — to the Superior Court.
Schalk currently serves as the Harrison County prosecutor. He has been elected prosecutor for four terms, having been first elected at the age of 25.
“We are fortunate enough to have such talented and dedicated individuals willing to serve on the bench in Indiana,” said Governor Mike Braun. “Joshua Otto Schalk has distinguished himself over four terms as Harrison County prosecutor, and he will continue to bring his strong legal experience, sound judgment, and commitment to upholding the law to his new appointment on the Harrison Superior Court.”
