Registration deadline approaching for free Bloomington Youth Grief Camp

BLOOMINGTON Families with children coping with the loss of a loved one have just one week left to register for Camp Good Grief 2026.

Hosted by Indiana University Health, the free day camp will take place on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, from 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Indiana University Hilltop Garden and Nature Center, located at 2367 E. 10th St. in Bloomington.

The program is designed for children and teens ages 6 to 16 who have lost someone special. Following the death of a loved one, young people often struggle with complex emotions and isolating thoughts—feeling as though no one understands their pain or believing they are the only ones their age experiencing grief.

Camp Good Grief aims to provide a safe, supportive space to address these challenges. Utilizing art, music, and play, campers will connect with peers navigating similar losses, learn healthy coping mechanisms, discover ways to preserve memories, and honor those they have lost.
