SEYMOUR — The Jackson County Industrial Development Corporation (JCIDC) has named Trevor Lane as its next executive director. Lane, a Jennings County native with over two decades of regional economic development experience, will take over leadership of the organization in early September.

Lane succeeds long-time executive director Jim Plump, who is retiring at the end of September after leading JCIDC since its founding in 1984.
Decades of Regional Economic Experience

Lane brings more than 26 years of economic development expertise to the county level:
- Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC): Served 21 years as the Southern Region Attractions Director. During his state tenure, he negotiated more than 430 business attraction and expansion deals, accounting for $8.2 billion in new capital investment and 36,000 new jobs statewide.
- Jackson County Impact: Managed regional attraction and retention projects locally that generated over 1,700 new jobs and brought $635.5 million in capital investment to Jackson County.
- Corporate Partnerships: Collaborated on development deals with major local employers, including Aisin, Lannett, Cummins, Guardian Bikes, Valeo North America, Sims Bark, Space Guard, and Vital Farms.
- Jennings County Economic Development: Served as executive director for five years before joining the state agency.
In addition to his administrative career, Lane and his wife, Pamela, manage a 500-acre family cattle and grain farm in southeast Jennings County.
Leadership Transition and Legacy
Plump’s upcoming departure marks the conclusion of a 42-year tenure at the helm of JCIDC. Under his leadership, the public-private partnership helped transform the industrial landscape across Seymour and Jackson County. During his career, Plump was named a Sagamore of the Wabash in 2004, received the Indiana Economic Development Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018, and was honored with the Distinguished Hoosier Award in 2024.
Lane will work alongside Plump during a brief transition period in September before officially assuming full directorial duties.
