MITCHELL — The countdown to Mitchell’s 79th Annual Persimmon Festival is underway, and organizations throughout the community are being encouraged to start planning their parade entries.
Registration is now open for the annual Persimmon Festival parade, with businesses, organizations, clubs, churches, schools and community groups invited to take part.
The parade is one of the highlights of the weeklong Persimmon Festival, bringing together local groups and residents for a celebration of Mitchell’s community spirit and long-standing traditions.
Organizers are encouraging anyone interested in participating to reserve their spot early rather than waiting until festival week.
The 79th Annual Persimmon Festival is scheduled for September 19, 21-26, with activities planned throughout the week in downtown Mitchell.
The parade provides an opportunity for local organizations to showcase their group, promote a business or cause, and be part of one of Mitchell’s biggest annual community celebrations.
