John Henry Smith, 66, of Shoals, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026.
Born June 1, 1960, in Washington, he was the son of William “Jack” and Maggie (Blake) Smith.
John graduated from Loogootee and was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked at Moron Timber and Washington Appliance Recycling.
John enjoyed being outdoors.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his son, John Smith Jr.; daughter, Teresa Smith; several grandchildren; brothers, Cassius Lee (Peggy) Smith and Mark Smith; sisters, Karolyn (Jim) Tello and Martha (Smith) Fisher; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph Smith, Richard Smith, James Smith, Paul Smith, and George Smith; and sisters, Hattie Lou Smith and Faye Smith.
Cremation was chosen per John’s request. No services will be planned at this time.
