VINCENNES — Construction is progressing on Amazon’s upcoming delivery station in Knox County, with company officials aiming to have the facility operational in time for the peak holiday shopping season.
The 104,000-square-foot facility is being built on approximately 30 acres located in the U.S. 41 Industrial Park, just south of Vincennes. The expansion is part of Amazon’s broader infrastructure network growth across Indiana.
Chris Pfaff, CEO of Knox County Indiana Economic Development, noted that the site is expected to generate approximately 170 jobs. In addition to full-time and part-time internal staff, the location will create additional driving opportunities through Amazon’s delivery partner network.
Delivery stations represent the final operational link in Amazon’s supply chain—often referred to as the “last mile” of the order fulfillment process:

- Inbound Sorting: Packages are shipped from regional fulfillment and sortation centers to the delivery station.
- Vehicle Loading: Packages are organized into specific neighborhood routes and loaded onto delivery vans and partner vehicles.
- Customer Delivery: Drivers dispatch directly from the station to complete final home and business deliveries, speeding up overall transit times for surrounding communities.
Community leaders, including Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum, have praised the investment, noting that having an operational station in the county will help improve local delivery speeds while boosting the area’s economic base. Construction will continue through the fall as crews work toward the targeted late-2026 launch.
