Genevieve J. (Flora) Dalton, 86, of Orleans, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Red Crest Hospice House in Bloomington.
Born September 11, 1939, in Mitchell, Indiana, she was the daughter of Shirley and Grace (Reynolds) Flora.
She was a 1957 graduate of Mitchell High School. She was a member of Orleans Christian Church.
Genevieve married Rex E. Dalton on May 2, 1958; and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2019.
She worked at Travelers in Orleans for nearly 20 years.
Genevieve enjoyed playing Bingo, attending Orleans athletic events, country music and square dancing, going to yard sales, gardening, birdwatching, and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her sons, Brad (Sherri) Dalton and Anthony Dalton, both of Orleans; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Rex; grandchildren, Logan and Kyle Dalton; and siblings, Frankie Flora, Warren Flora, Norma Henderson, and Henrietta Slaten.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the Ochs-Tetrick Funeral Home in Orleans. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery, Orleans.
Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour on Monday, at Ochs-Tetrick.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Orange County Humane Society, in memory of Genevieve J. Dalton.
