Cruisin’ for a Cure: Take a ‘Joy Ride’ to benefit local woman battling cancer this Sunday

BEDFORD — Friends, family and community members are invited to rally behind Joy “Snickers” Henderson during a benefit motorcycle ride Sunday, Aug. 2, at Johnny Junxions in Bedford.

The “Cruisin’ for a Cure: A Ride for Snickers” fundraiser will raise money to help Henderson as she continues her recovery. Organizers are encouraging riders, drivers and supporters from across the area to participate in what they hope will be an afternoon of community, fellowship and fundraising.

Registration will begin at 1 p.m. at Johnny Junxions, with motorcycles and other participating vehicles departing at 2 p.m. The ride route will be announced the day of the event.

The registration fee is $20 per vehicle.

Following the ride, participants can enjoy a variety of activities, including a poker run, silent auction and 50/50 drawing. Free cookies and ice-cold water will also be available for attendees.

The event is about more than raising money — it is an opportunity for the community to come together in support of Henderson as she continues her recovery. The event’s theme, “One Community. One Purpose. One Road to Recovery,” reflects that mission.

Everyone is welcome to attend, whether riding a motorcycle, driving another vehicle, or simply stopping by to show their support.

The fundraiser will take place at Johnny Junxions in Bedford, with registration beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday and the ride departing at 2 p.m.
