OWEN COUNTY — Authorities have confirmed that the body of 33-year-old Tyler Wagaman, a Greenwood man who had been missing since mid-June, has been located alongside his vehicle in Owen County.
The Greenwood Police Department stated that the Owen County Sheriff’s Office has taken over as the primary agency leading the death investigation.
Timeline of Disappearance and Search Efforts
Wagaman was reported missing by the Greenwood Police Department on Sunday, June 14, after he failed to show up for work and could no longer be reached.
Investigators and family members pieced together his last known movements following his disappearance:
- June 15: Wagaman last used his bank card early in the morning to buy gas at a station off Interstate 69 south of Indianapolis. License plate cameras (Flock) detected his 2003 black Ford F-150 in Indianapolis 48 minutes later.
- June 17: The Johnson County Coroner’s Office reported that Wagaman’s mobile phone pinged a final tower signal in the rural area of Gosport, Indiana.
In the weeks following his disappearance, family, friends, and community volunteers organized search parties focused around Gosport and surrounding roadways. A $5,000 reward was also offered for information leading to his whereabouts.
The Owen County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released details regarding the cause or circumstances of Wagaman’s death. Authorities state the death investigation remains active and ongoing.
