Trooper Tyler Line promoted to District Squad Leader at Sellersburg District

SELLERSBURG — The Indiana State Police announced today the promotion of Trooper Tyler R. Line to the rank of Sergeant. Line will serve as a District Squad Leader at the Indiana State Police Sellersburg District Post 45.

Sergeant Line is a 2013 graduate of Paoli Jr./Sr. High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Bloomington in 2018. He graduated from the 80th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy in December 2020 before being assigned to the Indianapolis District.

In 2022, Sergeant Line transferred to the Jasper District before joining the Sellersburg District in 2024. Throughout his five years with the Indiana State Police, he has served in a variety of patrol assignments and is a member of the Indiana State Police Tactical Intervention Platoon (TIP) and the Indiana State Police Honor Guard.

As District Squad Leader, Sergeant Line will supervise road troopers assigned to the Sellersburg District while continuing the district’s mission of providing professional law enforcement services throughout Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Scott and Washington counties.

Sergeant Line resides in Floyd County with his wife, Adeline, and their son.
