BEDFORD — The Parent Project: Changing Destructive Adolescent Behavior, a 10-week course focused on helping parents raising difficult children, is being offered at the StoneGate Arts and Education Center, located at 931 15th Street, Bedford.
The Parent Project is an organization that has developed parent-training programs for parents raising difficult children. In over 35 years, The Parent Project has worked with over 1.5 million parents and is now the largest court-mandated juvenile diversion program in the country.
The course meets every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the first session beginning on August 11 and the last session on October 13.
The course highlights include:
- Learning how to “never argue with your child again”.
- Preventing or intervening in alcohol or drug use
- Improving school attendance and performance
- Exploring concrete solutions for media issues
The 10-week series costs $30. The first class of the series is free for those unsure whether the class is the right fit for them.
