BEDFORD — Local non-profit organizations, schools, first responders, and community groups across Lawrence County are receiving a major financial shot in the arm.

The Community Foundation Partnership – Lawrence County (CFP-LC) Board of Directors has officially awarded $94,352 in combined funding through its 2026 open grant cycle. The total includes $84,525 in Impact Grants distributed among 15 non-profit agencies, alongside $9,827 awarded in Boost Grants to six local organizations.

Boost Grants, capped at $2,000 each, are designed to fund smaller-scale projects or provide general operational support for local organizations.
Investing in Quality of Life

“This year’s Impact and Boost Grants assist a wide spectrum of Lawrence County organizations – schools, parks, municipalities, human and animal services organizations, and service clubs,” said Brad Dykes, CFP-LC Grants Chair. “The result is added value to the quality of life in our community.”
In addition to the immediate grant awards, the board announced $17,500 in conditional challenge grants awarded to four community projects to spur local fundraising:
- Fayetteville Community Lions Club: Awarded a 1:1 challenge grant up to $10,000 for their “Who’s on First” project.
- Town of Oolitic: Awarded $4,000 for their “Movin’ Out!” project, contingent on raising $3,300 in matching funds.
- United Way of South Central Indiana: Awarded a $2,000 challenge grant for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, to be released once the organization raises $2,000.
- Mitchell Walking Club: Awarded a $1,500 challenge grant, requiring the club to raise $500 toward their goal.
