BEDFORD — North Lawrence Community Schools is inviting parents and caregivers of all NLCS students to participate in a free educational workshop designed to strengthen the partnership between home and school and provide practical strategies to help children succeed both academically and personally.

The “Preparing Our Kids for Success” program will be held Thursday, July 30, at Bedford Middle School, 1501 N Street. To accommodate different schedules, families may attend either the morning session from 10 a.m. to noon or the evening session from 4 to 6 p.m.
The workshops are free to attend, and complimentary childcare will be provided by NLCS staff members during both sessions.
The program will cover a variety of topics intended to help parents better support their children’s education and overall well-being. Participants will learn effective strategies for improving school attendance, strengthening communication between home and school, and boosting student academic performance.
Additional discussion topics will include using homework assignment sheets and online homework information systems, creating consistent structure and routines at home, recognizing signs of trauma in children, and encouraging parents to renew their hopes and goals for their children’s future.
The workshop is intended for parents and caregivers of students at all grade levels and aims to equip families with practical tools they can use throughout the school year.
Those planning to attend are encouraged to pre-register by scanning the QR code below or by completing the online registration form. After registering, participants will be contacted with additional information.

The free event is part of The Parent Project, a nationally recognized family engagement program that focuses on strengthening parenting skills and improving student success through increased family involvement.
