Committee Chairman Robert Henderson, along with fellow committee members, confirmed they are monitoring meteorological updates closely ahead of the scheduled July 4th festivities. With weather models predicting a wave of extreme heat and humidity for the weekend, organizers are shifting their focus toward public safety.
The primary concern centers around the traditional Independence Day ceremonies, which are scheduled to kick off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday on the Orange County Courthouse lawn. Because the event will take place entirely outdoors during peak morning heating, Henderson is asking all attendees, participants, and volunteers to plan and take strict, proactive precautions against the excessive heat.
