Lawrence County Commissioners to discuss local bids and 4th of July plans at upcoming meeting

BEDFORD — The Lawrence County Commissioners are scheduled to meet for their regular session on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. The local government meeting will address several community updates, department reports, and contract approvals.

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, the commissioners will review and vote on the approval of minutes from the June 16, 2026, regular meeting, as well as standard claims and payroll approvals.

A significant portion of the meeting will feature scheduled appointments with local officials and project representatives. Notably, Brad Bough is slated to present updates regarding upcoming 4th of July activities. Additionally, Ron Walker will speak on behalf of Workforce Housing LLC/Cook, and Leslie Lodmell will introduce Ody Ekwonwa to the commissioners.

Under items for consideration, the commissioners are expected to review painting bids for Dunn Plaza. Department reports will follow, featuring Highway Superintendent Brian Sowder seeking approval for paving bids, alongside updates from Emergency Management Director Valerie Luchauer and Sheriff Greg Day.
