Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce deadline approaching for nominations for 2026 Women Excel Bloomington Awards

BLOOMINGTON — The deadline is rapidly approaching for the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce’s 2026 Women Excel Bloomington (WEB) Awards, giving community members just a final window of time to submit nominations for outstanding female leaders throughout the region.

The annual WEB Awards honor local, civic-minded women from all walks of life who lead with integrity, uplift others, and make a lasting impact in their workplaces and communities. Organizers are searching for nominees who mentor, inspire, and lead by example—whether through business operations, non-profit initiatives, professional excellence, or dedicated community service.

The prestigious awards ceremony is a standout highlight of the Bloomington Women in Leadership (BWIL) annual calendar. This year’s celebration is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Nomination Criteria and Eligibility

To ensure a fair and comprehensive selection process, the Chamber has established specific baseline criteria for all 2026 nominees:

  • Age Requirement: Nominees must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Professional Scope: Women may work in either the private business sector or within a non-profit organization.
  • Balanced Leadership: Nominees must demonstrate robust leadership qualities both within their professional roles and through external community or volunteer efforts.
  • Exclusionary Rule: Past WEB Award recipients are not eligible for nomination. A comprehensive list of prior winners can be found on the Chamber’s official website.
  • Chamber Membership: Nominees living within Monroe County do not need to be Chamber members. However, any nominee who resides outside of Monroe County must be a Chamber member in good standing.

Expanding Recognition: The Mae Cassady Award

In addition to the core WEB awards, the Chamber continues its tradition of collecting nominations for the Mae Cassady Lifetime Achievement Award. Established to honor its namesake’s legacy, this distinct accolade recognizes women who have embodied a rare blend of professional excellence, humble leadership, and civic dedication over a sustained period of time.
