MITCHELL — The Greater Mitchell Chamber of Commerce has launched a high-impact promotional initiative designed to place local enterprises directly in the path of thousands of regional visitors during the upcoming 79th Annual Persimmon Festival week.

Dubbed the “Member Spotlight Tents,” this newly structured member benefit grants local business owners prime visual real estate along Main Street. From Monday, September 21, through Friday, September 25, the Chamber will deploy commercial pop-up tents within high-traffic festival zones, allowing participating businesses to establish an immediate, physical brand presence during peak community turnout for the historic, weeklong celebration.
Under the guidelines established by the Chamber, up to three distinct member businesses will be featured each evening. The operating schedule runs strictly from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. daily, capitalizing on maximum post-work and evening festival foot traffic. To ensure an equitable distribution of exposure across the Chamber’s diverse roster, registrations are initially limited to one night per member, though organizers noted that additional nights may become available if scheduling vacancies persist.

Unlike standard marketplace vendors, the initiative operates under a strict “promotion only” framework. No point-of-sale transactions or direct commercial exchanges will be permitted on site. Instead, the program is engineered as a pure marketing, lead-generation, and public relations vehicle. Chamber coordinators are urging participants to optimize their assigned evenings through interactive product demonstrations, informational literature displays, and branded promotional giveaways.

The Chamber will provide and manage the infrastructure, supplying the tents for the participating businesses. To accommodate the influx of pedestrians and ensure safety during peak hours, city officials have designated Main Street a vehicle-free zone during the event, with no vehicular access permitted until after 10:00 p.m.
Local business owners and Chamber members seeking to secure an evening spotlight block are required to submit an official request detailing their preferred operational dates to the administrative team via email at mitchellchamber@frontier.com. Officials emphasized that reservations are limited and will be filled on a strict first-come, first-served basis.
