WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today applauded Indiana Governor Mike Braun for proclaiming the month of June as “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” According to the 2022 Indiana State Aviation Economic Impact Study, general aviation airports across the state support more than $1.4 billion in economic impact annually, more than 11,000 jobs, and a total payroll of over $548 million.
“General aviation in Indiana is a cornerstone of the state’s economy and quality of life,” said Devin Osting, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “From supporting emergency medical services and disaster relief to connecting businesses and farms across the state, general aviation airports are critical infrastructure. We applaud Governor Braun for this recognition, which highlights the pilots, aviation professionals, and airports that make Indiana’s communities and economy thrive.”
