Steve Hackman conducts his Taylor Swift: The Symphony Era comes to Hilbert Circle Theatre

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) welcomes acclaimed composer, conductor, and creator Steve Hackman back to Hilbert Circle Theatre for Taylor Swift: The Symphony Era on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.

Known for his innovative fusion productions that blend classical music with contemporary artists, Hackman turns his attention to the music of global superstar Taylor Swift in a bold new symphonic experience. Taylor Swift: The Symphony Era celebrates Swift’s iconic songwriting by weaving together 40 songs—from chart-topping hits to beloved deep cuts—into a seamless, through-composed orchestral work.

Performed by the ISO alongside four vocalists and a full band, the production reimagines Swift’s music on a grand symphonic scale, uncovering surprising musical connections and hidden Easter eggs that will delight casual listeners and devoted Swifties alike.

“The significance of my relationship with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra goes well beyond the fact that we have premiered countless numbers of these fusion works together,” said Hackman. “The reality is that these fusions would not exist without them; this has literally been the laboratory where I have had the opportunity and freedom to develop the overall concept. They believed in this from the beginning, they’ve stuck with it, and they’ve watched both me and the work grow. It’s hard to put into words how grateful I am for that.

“With each new show, I try to push further creatively, and Taylor Swift: The Symphony Era represents a new level. Weaving forty of her songs into a symphonic tapestry was an incredible thrill and challenge. I cannot wait to share this music—and the phenomenal guest artists and orchestra—with the audience in Indy.”

Hackman has become a familiar and celebrated presence with Indianapolis audiences through the ISO’s Uncharted Series, which has featured his acclaimed fusion productions combining the music of artists such as Beyoncé, Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, and more with the power and artistry of a symphony orchestra. His latest creation continues that tradition while offering audiences a fresh way to experience one of the most influential songwriters of a generation.

Featured guest artists include vocalists India Carney, Zoe D’Andrea, Kayla GC, and Jessica Taylor, joined by Nick Clark (bass), TaRon Lockett (drums), Ahmed Alom (piano and synthesizer), and Max Townsley (guitar and synthesizer).

Taylor Swift: The Symphony Era is a SoundFuse Production.
