BLOOMINGTON — The Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market (BCFM) is buzzing with activity this week, offering residents a vibrant mix of seasonal produce, international flavors, live entertainment, and local government outreach.
From local vendor spotlights to the highly anticipated launch of the Tuesday Market season, here is what Bloomington residents can look forward to at the market.

For those looking to expand their culinary horizons, Sofra Bakery continues to be a standout destination at the market. Operated by Mehmet Akgun since 2015, the bakery brings the rich, authentic traditions of Turkey, Lebanon, and Greece straight to Bloomington.
The word Sofra is Turkish in origin, translating to a shared table or a gathering centered around food and connection. True to its name, the bakery features a unique blend of sweet and savory offerings that combine traditional Middle Eastern cuisine with contemporary interpretations.
Deeply committed to sustainability, Akgun incorporates locally sourced ingredients whenever possible, while utilizing distinctive, imported spices to maintain an authentic flavor profile. For market-goers seeking tastes not commonly found in the surrounding area, Sofra Bakery has quickly become a local favorite.
