Obituary: Rob Coyle

Robert “Bob” Coyle, 82, of Sun City, AZ, passed away on May 15, 2026.

Bob, son of Emerson and Violet Coyle, is survived by his wife, Regina, son Rob (Wendy), granddaughter Kennedy, son Kevin, brother Glenn, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He served as an officer in the Indiana National Guard and was honorably discharged.  Bob graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physics and a master’s degree in public affairs from Indiana University and was an avid fan of IU basketball and football.

Bob retired from the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, Indiana, after 40 years of service. He started in the production line for the Department of Defense and retired as a senior executive with a line item in the Congressional Budget. He served as an Elder at Old Union and Hillcrest Christian Churches in Indiana. He attended Christ Church of the Valley with his family in Arizona.

Rob enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his dog Milo.

Services will be held at Messinger Mortuary on May 29 from 11:00 a.m. to Noon. A celebration of life will be held at Old Union Christian Church on June 6 at 6:00 p.m.

Donations instead of flowers can be made in his name to the Humane Society.
