BEDFORD — Free health screenings and wellness demonstrations have become a cornerstone of the WBIW Senior Fair presented by Vertical Home Health, offering attendees an opportunity to gather important health information in a convenient community setting.

For many visitors, the health screening area is one of the first stops at the annual event. The screenings allow attendees to connect directly with healthcare providers, ask questions, and learn more about services available throughout the region.
The screenings are designed to promote preventive care and early awareness while giving seniors and caregivers access to health resources at no cost.
This year’s screenings and demonstrations will include:
- Blood pressure screenings by Vertical Home Health
- Blood pressure screenings by Southern Indiana Community Health Care
- Blood pressure screenings by Indiana Health Centers
- Vision screenings by the Bedford Lions Club
- Glucose screenings by the Bedford Lions Club
- Oxygen saturation, weight, and heart checks by Amedisys Home Health
- Hearing test scheduling through Beltone
- Memory testing by Stonebridge Health Campus
- Cushion support demonstrations by NextStep TheraSole
- Chiropractic benefit information by A Way of Wellness Chiropractic

Organizers say the free screenings remain one of the most-used services at the Senior Fair each year because they provide attendees with quick, accessible information that may encourage follow-up care or conversations with medical professionals.
The event also allows local healthcare organizations and wellness providers to educate the public about services available in the community, ranging from home health and rehabilitation to hearing care and wellness support.
The 2026 Senior Fair, presented by Vertical Home Health and hosted by 1340 WBIW, 105.5 WQRK, and Litefm, will take place on Wednesday, May 20, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sherwood Oaks Christian Church, 508 Fellowship Drive in Bedford.

In addition to health screenings and demonstrations, the fair will feature dozens of exhibitors offering information, products, services, and resources geared toward seniors, caregivers, and families throughout Southern Indiana.
Admission is free and open to the public.
