NORTH VERNON – Bedford North Lawrence senior Tripp Stahl won two events in the Hoosier Hills Conference meet during boys high school track action on Thursday at Jennings County.
The Stars finished sixth in the team standings with 72.5 points. Floyd Central won the title with 124, while New Albany was second with 94.
Stahl claimed the discus with a throw of 150-0, then doubled up in the shot put with a toss of 55-0.
Other top finishers for BNL included Luke Morris (second in the 110 high hurdles in 15.52, and second in the 300 low hurdles in 40.15) and Driven Axsom (third in the pole vault at 11-6 and third in the 300 lows in 42.49).
“My senior leaders they have been there all year,” BNL coach Brett Deckard said. “They had a great night going into the sectional.”
The Stars will compete in the IHSAA sectional at Brownstown on May 21.
