Washington pair arrested on multiple felony gambling charges

WASHINGTON – Two residents of Washington were taken into custody Tuesday following an investigation by the Indiana State Excise Police into alleged illegal gambling operations.

Lavar Saint Fleur, 43, and Annaltide Mompoint, 39, were arrested on multiple warrants involving a variety of organized crime and gambling-related offenses.

According to authorities, the charges include:

  • Corrupt Business Influence
  • Promoting Professional Gambling
  • Maintaining a Professional Gambling Site
  • Professional Gambling over the Internet

The investigation, led by the Indiana State Excise Police, suggests a sophisticated operation involving internet-based gambling. Corrupt Business Influence, often referred to as a “RICO” charge under Indiana law, is a high-level felony typically used when individuals are accused of operating or participating in an ongoing criminal enterprise.

Following their arrests, both Saint Fleur and Mompoint were transported to the Daviess County Security Center. Court records indicate that both individuals have since been released on bond.

The Indiana State Excise Police is the law enforcement arm of the Alcohol and Tobacco Commission. While they are frequently recognized for enforcing alcohol and tobacco laws, the agency also holds the authority to investigate illegal gambling and other organized criminal activity within the state.
