INDIANAPOLIS — A high-ranking FBI supervisor from Virginia has been arrested and charged with felony sexual battery in Marion County following a grand jury indictment.
The charges against 46-year-old Timothy Healy were unsealed Friday afternoon, months after the investigation into the supervisory special agent first began.

The Indiana State Police (ISP) launched an investigation in October 2025 after receiving an allegation of sexual battery against Healy. While the investigation concluded its evidentiary gathering within a few weeks, the case was subsequently turned over to the prosecutor’s office and presented to a grand jury.
The grand jury handed down an indictment in late April. Healy surrendered himself to authorities this week for the open warrant and was booked into the Marion County Jail on Wednesday. He was released early Thursday morning after posting a $5,000 cash bond.
“I know it may not seem like this was a quick investigation, but we were able to gather all the information and all the evidence within a few weeks,” said ISP Sgt. John Perrine.
Healy is a resident of Virginia and is not assigned to the FBI’s Indianapolis office. According to the FBI’s website and professional biographies, his credentials include:
- Role: Supervisory Special Agent with the FBI’s Crisis Negotiation Unit.
- Location: Based out of Quantico, Virginia.
- Responsibilities: Conducting field training sessions both domestically and overseas.
While many details remain shielded because the charges stem from a grand jury, investigators confirmed that Healy was visiting an acquaintance in Indianapolis at the time the alleged crime occurred.
Both local and national FBI offices have declined to comment on the arrest of their agent. However, the Indiana State Police emphasized that the suspect’s high-profile employment did not influence the rigor of the probe.
“Regardless of who the suspect is, it’s a serious allegation, and we’re going to investigate that fully, and that’s exactly what we did,” Sgt. Perrine stated, adding that “no one is above the law”.
The charge of sexual battery is classified as a Level 6 felony in Indiana. If convicted, Healy could face a maximum sentence of two and a half years.
