
NORTH VERNON – Bedford North Lawrence finished second in the Big Blue Relays at Jennings County during boys high school track action on Friday night.
The Stars totaled 60 points. Jennings won the team with 82 points in the five-team field. In the girls meet, BNL finished fourth with 41 points, while the Panthers completed a sweep of the titles with 69.5 points.
BNL had three winners in the boys meet. Tripp Stahl claimed blue ribbons in the shot put (50-4 1/4) and discus (150-4), while Luke Morris sailed across the line first in the 110 high hurdles (15.82).
Eli McFarland was second in the 3200 (10:14.60), Orion Hill was second in the discus (137-2), and Parker Beeson was second in the long jump (19-6 3/4).
In the girls meet, BNL’s top finishes came from Ashlynn York (third in the 3200 in 13:21.71) and the 800 relay foursome of Kendall Pittman, Lily Mishler, Alaina Fish and Gracie Simmerman (second in 1:53.92).
BNL will host the Hoosier Hills Conference girls meet on Tuesday.
