VINCENNES — Duke Energy has announced a $1,000 donation to Camp Wildwood in Vincennes, providing a boost to local educational programming for youth and families throughout Knox County.
The funding is earmarked for upcoming educational events and group programming, ensuring that the camp can continue its mission of community enrichment. As a non-profit entity, Camp Wildwood relies heavily on the work of dedicated volunteers to manage and operate its various seasonal programs.

Established in 1946, Camp Wildwood has served as a fixture of the Vincennes community for eight decades. The camp occupies a 10.5-acre site, providing a natural setting for outdoor education and recreation within the city limits.
Over the years, the site has evolved to support a variety of local organizations, including scout troops, school groups, and civic clubs. The recent contribution from Duke Energy helps ensure these groups have access to high-quality, structured educational resources during their visits.
The investment comes at a time when local organizations are increasingly focused on providing affordable, accessible learning opportunities outside of the traditional classroom. By targeting youth and families within Knox County, the partnership between Duke Energy and Camp Wildwood aims to foster environmental stewardship and community leadership in the next generation.
Residents and organizations interested in volunteering or utilizing the camp’s facilities can contact Camp Wildwood directly to learn more about upcoming educational sessions funded by this grant.
