Steady voter turnout reported; WBIW 1340 AM will air live election results

LAWRENCE COUNTY Election Day is officially underway in Lawrence County, with local officials reporting a steady stream of residents participating in the primary election as of Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Lawrence County Voter Registration Office, 1,047 voters had successfully cast their ballots by 12:19 p.m. While midday figures show consistent activity, election officials noted that turnout numbers typically see a significant climb throughout the late afternoon hours.

All polling sites are open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The official vote centers for today’s election include:

  • Lawrence County Courthouse: 916 15th St., Bedford
  • Bedford North Lawrence High School (Cafeteria): 595 Stars Blvd., Bedford
  • Parkview Intermediate School (Gym): 2024 W. 16th St., Bedford
  • Needmore Elementary School (Gym): 278 Trogdon Lane, Bedford
  • Lawrence County 4-H Fairgrounds (Expo Hall): 11265 U.S. Hwy 50 W., Bedford
  • Springville Community Academy: 126 Brick St., Springville
  • Mitchell Senior Center: 101 Tom Green Drive, Mitchell

Indiana law requires voters to present a valid photo ID at the polls. Officials also encourage voters to check registration status and sample ballots before arriving.
