BNL Unified wins eighth straight HHC title

BNL’s Unified track team won the Hoosier Hills Conference title on Saturday.

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence won its eighth consecutive Hoosier Hills Conference title during Unified track action on Saturday.

The Stars won the title with 124 points, followed by Columbus East (101), Floyd Central (98), Jennings County (63) and Seymour (61).

”The kids did a very good job,” BNL coach Mike Branam said. “Everyone did what they needed to do to win. Our leaders all stepped up, as did others like Rex (Evans) and Nik (Johnson). Even the ones who may not have earned any individual honors did a great job of hitting or improving their seeds.”

BNL athletes who won All-HHC honors included David Atintande (shot put), Evans (long jump), Jaxon Donnell (100) and Josh Morales (400), plus the relay teams of Temperance Thompson, Leighton Dye, Emma Johnson and Ellie Matheny (girls 400), and Morales, Isaiah Johnson, Atintande and Donnell (boys 400).
