The case began on April 10, 2026, when investigators were alerted by the Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS). DCS officials contacted State Police after receiving reports of abuse involving a minor child.

According to ISP Detectives, the investigation revealed that the Dyers allegedly molested and battered a juvenile in Jackson County earlier this year. Following 12 days of evidence gathering and interviews, detectives proceeded with the arrests on Wednesday afternoon.

The Dyers were transported to the Jackson County Jail, where they are currently being held pending the filing of formal charges by the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Both individuals face initial charges of child molesting, sexual misconduct with a minor, neglect of a dependent, and battery.

Once formal charges are processed, the couple will make their initial appearances in the Jackson County Circuit Court.

State Police officials have indicated that the investigation remains ongoing. No further details regarding the identity of the minor or the specific nature of the evidence have been released at this time to protect the victim’s privacy.

Under Indiana law, all criminal defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
