BEDFORD – With missing pieces, Bedford North Lawrence could not solve the puzzle.
Forced to adjust the lineup with two singles starters missing, the Stars had to juggle positions. Jennings County took advantage of the changes while posting a 5-0 victory on Thursday.
Adapting to the domino effect, as the shifts to the top of the singles rotation cascaded across the other courts, BNL (0-8) could not stop the tiles from toppling.
“With two varsity players out, we had to make some lineup adjustments,” BNL coach Jennifer Edwards said. “And our girls stepped up in a big way.”
In singles, the Panthers cruised as Kaydence Lowman rolled past Emma Voris 6-0, 6-0 at No.1, Karmindy Lowman fought past Elizabeth Miskuf 6-1, 6-1 at No.2, and Cecelia Toston took care of varsity newcomer Penelope Silcott 6-1, 6-0 at No.3.
“Elizabeth battled through an incredibly tough match,” Edwards said. “The final score doesn’t reflect just how competitive it was. Every single point was hard-fought, with long rallies and constant pressure. She really showed that competitiveness and grit, and refused to give anything away easily.”

In doubles, Gabi Morin and Kenna Sentz slipped past Claire Edwards and Bailey Fisher 6-3, 6-2 at No.1. Mia Wilder and Brooklyn Woods conquered Forum Patel and Abi Bruner 6-0, 6-3 at No.2.
“Claire and Bailey delivered another strong performance together,” Edwards said. “They continue to build great chemistry and are showing noticeable growth with each match. Their communication, consistency, and ability to adjust mid-match made a big difference.
“Overall, I’m extremely proud of this team. The girls did a great job making smart adjustments based on their opponents, and that level of awareness and adaptability is a huge step forward for us.”
BNL will host its annual Invitational on Saturday.
