SEYMOUR – Bedford North Lawrence finished seventh in the season-opening Seymour Invitational during boys high school golf action at Shadowood on Saturday.
The Stars totaled 354 in the 15-team field. Bloomington South won the title with 303, while preseason No.7 Guerin Catholic was second at 313.
Evan Tillett paced BNL with a round of 82, while Parker Foddrill posted 89.
“It wasn’t the start to the season that we had envisioned, but there is a lot of room for growth over these next two months,” BNL coach Trey Turner said. “I was really proud of the attitude today. I don’t think any of them played the way they had envisioned, but no one was compounding mistakes because they were upset.”
Bloomington South’s Karl Bailey was the medalist with a 3-under 69, while teammate Carson Gady also broke into red numbers with 71. Guerin Catholic’s Eli Wessell carded 72.
BNL will host Bloomington South in the home opener at Otis Park on Thursday.
