BEDFORD – As Holy Week continues, Sherwood Oaks Bedford invites the local community to a special Maundy Thursday service this Thursday, April 2, at 6:30 p.m.

Located at 508 Fellowship Dr, Bedford, IN 47421, the church will host a quiet and reflective evening centered around the significance of the Last Supper. The service serves as a meaningful opportunity for residents to remember the final night Jesus spent with His disciples before the crucifixion.
Maundy Thursday has been observed by Christians throughout history as a time to honor Christ’s example of service and humility. This year’s gathering is designed to help participants prepare their hearts for the solemnity of Good Friday and the eventual hope of Easter Sunday.
The 2026 service will feature a uniquely orchestrated musical experience, including the Sherwood Oaks Worship Team, members of the Church Choir, and a small orchestra.
Together, these musicians will lead the congregation through a selection of songs intended to help attendees enter the biblical narrative with reverence and gratitude.
Sherwood Oaks Bedford encourages individuals, families, and friends to attend in person to experience the community worship environment. However, for those unable to make it to the physical location, the church is providing digital access:
The service will be broadcast live for free on the Sherwood Oaks Bedford YouTube Channel.
For those seeking to learn the meaning behind the day, the service will provide context on the “New Commandment” (mandatum novum) given by Jesus: to love one another as He loved them. By gathering as a community, participants join a centuries-old tradition of worship and reflection.
Whether joining in person or online, the leadership at Sherwood Oaks Bedford welcomes all to this night of remembrance and preparation.
