MITCHELL — The City of Mitchell is encouraging residents to spruce up their properties during its upcoming “Clean Sweep” event, scheduled for April 20 through April 27.
The citywide effort is designed to allow residents to dispose of unwanted household items and improve the appearance of their homes and neighborhoods as part of a coordinated spring cleanup.
Officials are asking residents to “show your Mitchell pride” by taking time to clean off porches, tidy up yards, and remove clutter from their properties during the designated week.
As part of the initiative, the city will offer free pickup services for a variety of items. Accepted materials include furniture, light building materials, demolition debris from homeowner projects (not contractor work), tires (limited to 4 per household), and household appliances. Televisions will not be accepted.
Residents who wish to participate must call 812-849-4168 to schedule a pickup time.
