MITCHELL — The Mitchell Junior High and High School band programs will take the stage later this week for a special ISSMA Preview Concert, offering the community a chance to hear students perform ahead of upcoming competitions while also supporting a good cause.
The concert is scheduled for Thursday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. in the Mitchell High School Auditorium. The event will feature performances from both the junior high and high school bands and ensembles as they prepare for Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) events.
Admission to the concert is free, and all are invited to attend.

In addition to showcasing student musicians, the evening will also serve as a community service effort. The Mitchell Band Boosters will be collecting canned food donations at the door. All items collected will be distributed to local food pantries to assist families in need throughout the area.
Organizers encourage residents to come out, enjoy an evening of live music, and support both the students and the broader community.
“This is a great opportunity to hear our young musicians perform while also making a meaningful impact locally,” organizers noted.
The ISSMA Preview Concert is open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring a canned good donation if they are able.
