As a member of NWIIWA’s board, Henningfield will support the organization’s mission to recognize, empower, and advance women across the region.

A recognized leader in workforce development, women-in-construction advocacy, and cultural transformation within the heavy civil construction industry, Henningfield brings over 30 years of experience and a passion for empowering others to the NWIIWA board.

“I’m honored to serve on the NWIIWA Board and help champion growth, mentorship, and opportunity for women across Northwest Indiana,” said Henningfield. “When women rise, communities thrive.”

In her position at Superior, Henningfield builds pathways that connect education, industry, and future talent to the workforce. Her work focuses on helping individuals discover purpose, opportunity, and a sense of belonging.

As a champion for women in the trades, Henningfield helps lead Superior Construction’s Women in Construction (SWiC) program, an initiative designed to elevate women at each level of the organization. The program’s inaugural leadership cohort achieved a major milestone: 100% of the participants earned promotions within one year.

For her influence in leadership, culture, and inclusion, Henningfield has earned several national recognitions, including:

  • Construction Business Owner Magazine – Outstanding Women in Construction (Top 12 Nationwide)
  • 2025 Construction Dive Champion – Mentor of the Year
  • 2025 ForConstructionPros.com PACER Award – Women in Construction

She has also received multiple regional and industry awards for leadership, mentorship, and workforce innovation. In 2024, Henningfield was named NWIIWA’s Overall Influential Woman of the Year for her work advancing women and workforce development across the region.

As a proud wife and mother of two daughters, Henningfield is guided, both professionally and personally, by her mantra, “You can’t be what you don’t see.”

“Amy embodies the very spirit of NWIIWA,” said Andrea Pearman, Executive Director of NWIIWA. “Her commitment to workforce development, her advocacy for women in traditionally underrepresented industries, and her ability to turn vision into measurable impact make her an extraordinary addition to our Board of Directors.”
