BEDFORD – Local authorities say a vehicle believed to what appears to belong to two missing adults has been located in floodwaters in Lawrence County.
Greg Day said Indiana Conservation Officers located what appears to be the missing vehicle near the intersection of Earl Road and Lawrenceport Road.
Officials said the location matches the last known area where the two missing adults were believed to be, based on cellphone app location data.
According to the sheriff, it also appears the vehicle contains two deceased individuals. Recovery operations are still underway, and the scene will be processed by the Indiana State Police once the vehicle is removed from the water.
At this time, authorities have ceased all other search efforts related to the missing adults.
Family members of the missing individuals are currently at the scene as officials continue their investigation.
Sheriff Day said more detailed information will be released once the recovery is completed and the investigation progresses.
