MARSHALL COUNTY – Master Trooper James Zeser is set to hang up the duty belt one last time as he retires this week after serving the citizens of Indiana for twenty-eight years.
Zeser is a native of Decatur, IN and a graduate of Adams Central High School. Following high school, he attended Indiana State University earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology. Zeser also proudly served in the Indiana Air National Guard for six years.
Zeser attended the 55th Indiana State Police Recruit Academy graduating on August 24, 1997. Following graduation, Zeser was assigned to the Bremen District where he has spent his entire career. During his time with the Indiana State Police Zeser has been a field training officer (FTO), Level III truck inspector, and a child safety seat technician. He also spent nearly a decade patrolling the Bremen District and beyond in a Ford Mustang GT. He has racked up over 970,000 safe driving miles over the course of his career.
Zeser was recognized for his hard work and dedication by being named the Bremen District Trooper of the Year in 2006.
Zeser sums up his career by saying, “It has been an honor and privilege to serve the people of the State of Indiana.”
