Williams, a 2025 graduate of Bedford North Lawrence High School, was awarded a $1,000 check to support her ongoing studies. The daughter of Dustin and Laura Williams, Laci is currently attending Ivy Tech Community College, where she is pursuing a degree in Business.
The Bedford Lions Club has been a steadfast supporter of local youth, awarding an annual scholarship to a deserving BNL senior every year since 1979. The program looks beyond grades, seeking students who embody the Lions’ motto: “We Serve.”
In her winning community service essay, Williams reflected on the profound impact of her volunteer work during her high school years. She noted that these experiences taught her the true value of helping others and allowed her to witness firsthand the deep gratitude of those receiving assistance.
“Community service influenced me by showing me the importance of helping others and how truly grateful people can be,” Williams wrote in her submission.
The scholarship was officially presented by Jim Fisher, a member of the Lions Club Scholarship Committee, alongside Club President Sam Fields.
The presentation was a family affair, with Laci’s parents, Dustin and Laura Williams, and her sister, Alli, in attendance to celebrate her achievement.
The funds are earmarked to help cover tuition and educational expenses as she transitions into her professional business studies.
The Lions Club is a non-profit service organization dedicated to community improvement, vision health, and youth development in the Lawrence County area.
