BEDFORD — Faith, fellowship, and a hearty meal will take center stage this Saturday, Feb. 28, as Hillcrest Christian Church hosts its men’s event, “Trophies of Grace,” inside the church’s Family Life Center.

Doors will open at 3:30 p.m., giving attendees time to browse an impressive display of deer trophies from across the country and connect with others in a relaxed, outdoors-themed setting. Organizers use the trophy display as a visual reminder that believers themselves are “trophies of God’s grace,” serving as the foundation for the evening’s message and worship.
Lead Pastor Mark Fugate joined host Jeff Wagoner on an episode of WBIW’s Talk of the Town to discuss the event and all it will offer.
The schedule for the event includes an opening prayer and worship from 4:30 to 5 p.m., followed by dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. Door prize cards will be collected at 6:30 p.m., with giveaways and closing remarks wrapping up the evening around 7 p.m. Featured speaker Carl Parks will share a message centered on faith and spiritual growth.
One of the evening’s highlights is expected to be the meal, catered by John Wisely. The menu will feature pulled pork, baked beans, and cheesy potatoes, along with deep-fried, bacon-wrapped jalapeño “Armadillo Eggs,” a crowd favorite that has become immensely popular at local gatherings.
Tickets for the evening event is $20 per person.
The event is designed to bring men, families, and community members together for an evening that blends outdoor culture with Christian fellowship. Organizers say the goal is to create an inviting atmosphere where attendees can enjoy good food, meaningful conversation, and encouragement in their faith.
