LOOGOOTEE — Time is running out for Martin County business owners looking to refresh their storefronts. The Martin County Alliance for Economic Growth has issued a final reminder that applications for the 2026 Impact Facade Grant are due this Friday, February 27, 2026.

The program is designed to revitalize local downtowns and business districts by providing financial incentives for exterior building improvements. By strengthening the visual appeal of local shops and offices, officials hope to bolster community pride and encourage further economic investment.
The Impact Facade Grant offers a 1-to-1 matching grant of up to $4,000. This means if a business owner invests $4,000 into an eligible project, the Alliance can provide an additional $4,000 to cover the total cost.
To qualify, commercial properties must be located within the city or town limits of:
- Crane
- Loogootee
- Shoals
The grant specifically targets the “face” of the building—elements that are visible to the public and contribute to the streetscape. Eligible projects include:
- Signage: New or restored business signs.
- Structural Entryways: Repair or replacement of entrance doors.
- Aesthetics: Awnings, painting, and decorative architectural features.
- Restoration: Masonry repair and the restoration of original exterior elements to preserve historical character.
With the deadline fast approaching, interested business owners are encouraged to act immediately to secure their funding. Applications must be submitted by the close of business this Friday.
To request an application or speak with a representative, contact the Martin County Alliance office at 812-295-4800 or via email at assistant@martinalliance.org.
